Their values and ours are much in common: the end-user shall be the main focus of the product design process. With this core idea in mind, we share ideas, perform surveys, discuss product features and possibilities... In this sense, interesting collaborations with local and foreign start-ups and Universities will start in the coming weeks. The right environment. The right moment.&nbsp;<br />The development of a product is, in essence, about introspection. But it requires lots of interaction with the world, too. Centuries ago, the emplacement served as a convent and, later, belonged to the Lords of La Sarra. This emblematic place called Le Moulin Bornu,&nbsp;</span><a href="https://www.sauvonslemormont.ch/balade-autour-du-mormont/poste-1-2/" target="_blank">was also known at that time as The Middle of the World</a><span>, and links both Rhone and Rhine and, further, Mediterranean Sea with Nordic Sea.<br /><br />Today, it has been re-adapted for the local industry, and there we gather a variety of enterprises, from service companies, to construction, blacksmiths, restaurants, artists... The watermill has turned a hydroelectric power station providing electricity to local areas.</span><br /><br /><span>Everyday, we pass right close to the river basin to enter to the workshop. Isn't it magic?&#8203; So it is to count with a part of the old watermill mechanism right inside our workspace :) Old-tech and new-tech gathered in the same place!</span></div>  <h2 class="wsite-content-title">What we do there</h2>  <div class="paragraph">Such an adequate environment brings a flow of things to do:<ul><li>devising&nbsp;and development of ideas</li><li>functional analysis of the needs of our products</li><li>building of mock-ups and prototypes</li><li>testing and optimisation</li></ul> For that, we count with all the tools needed for materialising our ideas which include drilling, cutting, soldering, welding, and general purpose tools. Discussing a commercial plan can take to a dissertation about the sense of life, or vice-versa. He's a sea dog always searching for the Blue Ocean. His brain works much faster than mine. No wonder that, when we gathered our brains, something has to happen.<br /><br />At the end of 2017 we collaborated for the first time to participate in a C2C design contest. That idea happened to end up being YeeZee our garbage compactor. We unleashed our prolific design inertia and continued our collaborations.&nbsp;</div>   					 				</td>			</tr> 		</tbody> 	</table> </div></div></div>  <div class="paragraph"><span>In 2018 we started our most ambitious project so far, FitWatt, we presented the idea at the Climate Show in Geneva, and the first machine was ready for prototyping that summer. He's been EeD's core collaborator since then.&nbsp;</span>&#8203;</div>  <h2 class="wsite-content-title">Art and engineering</h2>  <div class="paragraph">Daniel's contribution to EeD goes beyond engineering. He is gifted for making something functional become also beautiful. Apart from participating in the devising processes, he is in charge of giving the ultimate shape to the designs. He is so meticulous that great quality is inherent and guaranteed. Despite she found a great opportunity at SIG, she was always helpful and kept giving a hand when needed. Unfortunately for us, life ha different plans for her and couldn't continue collaborating.
