Emile is a student at the Haute-Ecole Arc Ingénierie, with an entrepreneurial mindset, who came across our ecodesign activities. So he proposed us a collaboration to help EeD to develop a crucial functional unit in one of our current projects, where his skills in ergonomic design are much valued.  He is a torrent of energy and creativity. We were amazed by the interest he showed during our videocalls, so...we couldn't say no! :)

This collaboration is just the beginning of a long-lasting synergetic relationship where, the environment and the end-user with be most benefited. We are eager to find what comes from Emile's contribution... so far, so promising!

It is EeD's DNA to back partnerships where ecodesign is valued. In this sense, interesting collaborations with local and foreign start-ups and Universities will start in the coming weeks. Joining forces is the key to make solid projects, share ideas, learn, and bring prosperity in a decentralised world.

It had to be the right place. The right environment. The right moment. 
The development of a product is, in essence, about introspection. But it requires lots of interaction with the world, too. Needs of inspiration and good vibes, and it all has to happen when you have access to your work materials: you need to be in your tailored atelier. 

Such an adequate environment brings a flow of things to do:

• devising and development of ideas
• functional analysis of the needs of our products
• building of mock-ups and prototypes
• testing and optimisation

For that, we count with all the tools needed for materialising our ideas which include drilling, cutting, soldering, welding, and general purpose tools. Soon, a 3D printer, a CNC machine, and a plastic recycling system for injection moulding, will be part of our equipment.

By the end of 2018, Daniel and me had created the one-million-dollar-ideas list (yes: it is) which contains a set of tens of product conceptions we know can effectively disrupt the Market. So, a lot of IP generated... but still we had a hard work ahead to develop and commercialise it all. We were such freaks of design that we had put aside the transition from drawings to money :$ Naveen just came to our SOS call.

A working session with Naveen is always special. Discussing a commercial plan can take to a dissertation about the sense of life, or vice-versa. I remember chatting about his neighbour's hydroponic farm and, I don't know how, ending up devising a new business opportunity for coastal Europe.

Naveen is positiveness in person; the kind of fellow any team would need. He is in charge of EeD's commercial duties since 2018 but his tasks actually are going way beyond that. His a naval architect with overwhelming social skills, and a concern for the environment as deep as his knowledge of commercials and business strategies. He's a sea dog always searching for the Blue Ocean. He has continued Vanessa's incredible work and let EeD expand and make real the transition between IP and money.

​Personally, I always have the feeling that I'm a step behind. His brain works much faster than mine. This forces me everyday to learn something new to catch up.

Environmental care shall prevail, but quality is a must in a good product. As simple as that. But it's easier said than done. Once the business strategy was set, was this mantra but, how to attain it? When you find the right colleagues, things come easy. 

In 2018 we started our most ambitious project so far, FitWatt, we presented the idea at the Climate Show in Geneva, and the first machine was ready for prototyping that summer. He's been EeD's core collaborator since then. ​

Daniel's contribution to EeD goes beyond engineering. He is gifted for making something functional become also beautiful. Apart from participating in the devising processes, he is in charge of giving the ultimate shape to the designs. He is so meticulous that great quality is inherent and guaranteed. By the way, sketching with an illustrator takes the sharing of ideas to a different level!

When EeD was still a toddler, one of the most complex issues was facing the management strategy. I (the fella in the photo) came from the world of calculations and problem resolution, linked to the purest essence of an industrial designer. So, I believed a company could run just the same if the offer of services was just good. So wrong was I!

Thanks to Vanessa, EeD could devise a feasible business strategy, create a well structured business master plan, and start thinking as an organised network of entrepreneurs pursuing similar goals to maximise opportunities and optimise quality.

Vanessa believed from the start in EeD, and was the first core collaborator we had, undertaking business-related tasks in parallel to her own entreprenurial venture. Despite she found a great opportunity at SIG, she was always helpful and kept giving a hand when needed. Unfortunately for us, life ha different plans for her and couldn't continue collaborating. Anyhow, I couldn't be more grateful for her valuable help, and deeply hope she is exploiting her huge potential.

Kelly is much interested in getting deeper knowledge about Circular Economy. So, he contacted Eco-efficient Design to know more about it from an ecodesigner's perspective.

​We talked for quite long, but in this short fragment I introduce the concept of ecoefficiency and how this objective is so important for a company...and how it happened to name our product design agency.
