EeD's design approach

Design Thinking process

  • DT is an end-user-focused procedure
  • It is conceived to find, design and provide what your customers wish... even if they don't know what it is yet!
  • Focal point: a customer is satisfied when products meet or go beyond their expectations
  • Its iterative product development process ensures the right design direction

Ecodesign engineering

  • It considers the lifecycle environmental consequences of a product in every stage of the design project
  • It is guided by a DfX (Design for X) approach, where X is the means to integrate the product in a circular value chain, and represented by the Ecodesign Strategy Wheel
  • Environmentally harmful solutions are discarded
  • Circular economy principles serve as key sources of inspiration

How we do it

Picture
Understand
The goal is to find what really needs to be created.
A close collaboration with our clients allows sharing insights to analyse together the needs of both end-users and market.
Picture
Define
We set the design objectives in MoSCoW criteria that we can quantify or evaluate.
It is important knowing what shall be achieved... and what should not!
Picture
Create
The project team devises different alternatives and evaluates them through VERI, our exclusive analysis method. We choose promising provisional designs for development.
Picture
Prototype
A model helps to visualise and predict a functionality's performance. We can reproduce it via fast prototyping or HD models to adjust parameters or to try different approaches.
Picture
Test
The results are compared through physical testing and simulations with the design criteria to prove that the product meets them. Final details in CAD (3D model and drawings), manuals, and data are set...Et voilà!

Circular Economy:
the next industrial revolution

More info about Circular Economy?
Here you have a good read
Sustainable development will be achieved when no materials are squandered as waste. They will have a circular production flow with renewable power feed.

They are always reintroduced
in a productive loop, generating wealth while avoiding any potential environmental harm.
It comprises all stakeholders in primary, secondary and tertiary sectors, including society itself as the final users or consumers of goods and services.

Together with the Internet of Things, it will lead our future as a society.
