This growth in the EV stock is due to improved infrastructures and the implications of local and global policies, which are key factors for the evolution of this technology. From our point of view, there is still long way to go, as infrastructures still must grow to ease recharge and to appeal to new buyers, and material and environmental issues need to be tackled to minimise the impact rare and scarce materials contained in batteries may cause. Important considerations such as where the electricity comes from, of if the electricity grid can supply this growing demand are ultimately important: greener cities with increased global pollution or energy cut downs take nowhere.
In the meantime, Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV and PHEV) or biogas driven engines can help the transition towards more sustainable transports and cities. Comments are closed.
